"Community-Based Approaches to Energy and Climate Change
CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
The University of Vermont Extension Service and the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network invite you to attend the 1st Annual Vermont Community Energy Conference on Tackling Energy and Climate Change at the Local Level on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 9:00 am 4:00 pm at the Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vermont. Conference registration and exhibitors begin at 8:00 am, with the conference starting at 9:00.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be Glen Brand, Co-founder and Director of the Sierra Club's national Cool Cities Campaign, will speak about "Generating Local Energy Solutions: Solving Global Warming One Community at a Time." 10: Smart Growth Vermont Annual Dinner
Smart Growth Vermont will honor Paul Bruhn of Preservation Trust, VT with the 2008 Arthur Gibb award for Individual Leadership, for his significant contribution to preserving Vermont's landscapes village centers and historic landmarks. at the Vergennes Opera House will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Tickets are $35.00. Please contact Smart Growth Vermont if you are interested in attending. Paul has been instrumental in planning and proposing an alternative downtown location for the Wal-Mart store in St. Albans.
